PRESS RELEASE
A new series of sculptures by Concorde reimagines the domestic interior of The Bedroom by Vincent van Gogh as a set of unstable, assembled forms. Daybeds, chairs, tables, coat and towel hangers, picture frames are reconstructed from repurposed objects. Wooden banisters, tools, and fragments of pre-existing furniture pieces.
Rather than faithfully reproducing the painting, Concorde translates it into a three-dimensional collage. The quiet intimacy of the room is unsettled, becoming a space defined by fragmentation, substitution, and the uneasy coexistence of parts.
Launched in 2020, Concorde was born from a desire to reinterpret bourgeois aesthetics with a cultured yet punk approach. The practice reimagines traditional design codes through playful experimentation and overlapping of historical references.
Recent and upcoming exhibitions include: zazá, Milan (2026); Ilenia, London (2025); Emanuela Campoli, Paris (2024); Uppercut, Brussels (2024); Conceptual Fine Arts, Milan (2023); Galerie Barbara Weiss, Berlin (2023).
